Patchwork Barn – jmzakopane

Zakopane Patchwork Barn fuses the past with the present.

It is a brand new project completed within the walls of old barn from 1940’s.

The building is completely self-contained. It has separate, private entrance and its three glass doors lead to the large garden. Everything is on the ground level. It is perfect for people with limited mobility.

The garden is shared with our two regional wooden cottages. Once you venture to the garden you will have an excellent view of the Tatra Mountains with its Giewont and Kasprowy peaks.

Garden is family and children friendly with trampoline, sandbox, slide and many other miscellaneous toys.

On the garden side there is a stone patio with table and benches – perfect for morning coffee or evening wine.

The property is located in the center of Zakopane on an unusually large lot of 2000m², at the end of a quiet dead end street. The high street Krupowki is about 400 meters away. (5 min. walk) It is even closer to the green area of Lipki Hill. During winter (when conditions allow) there is a small lift for children and beginners. During summer it is a great way to escape the city to the Tatra National Park. Almost not setting a foot on a regular street

Apartment’s décor is a fusion of contemporary and the old “goral” style.

It is filled with original, real wood furnishings. All the wooden doors are made by local craftsmen from spruce wood. Spruce is a local tree used here for everything from small items to constructing whole houses. The main decorative feature supporting the

bedroom’s ceilings are made of the same material and carved by a famous goral craftsman. Nightstands are also made from spruce; they are just large pieces of a single tree shaped into rectangle.

Beds and the table are bespoke and made by hand from ash, hardwood traditionally used in the region.

The cowbells displayed on the walls are real, historic and allude to the previous agrarian use of the building. The artwork on the walls and the glass windows by the entrance doors are also one-off commissioned pieces.

Zakopane Patchwork Barn has 80 sq. meters. It consists of large, spacious living room, kitchen, entrance hallway, two bathrooms and two bedrooms.

It can house maximum 7 adults and additionally 2 or 3 small children in baby cots or foldout beds.

Heating system consists of central heating system with both radiant floor and regular radiators. Additionally there is a fireplace with hot air distribution system.

Central heating is powered by clean, green geothermal energy.
